Conference To Focus On Islamic Venture Capital KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 (Bernama) — The Islamic Venture Capital and Private Equity Conference with the theme of “Fostering Alternative Investment — Emerging Trends and Key Opportunities” will be held here next month. Jointly organised by Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) and Malaysian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (MVCA), the conference is the first of its kind to be organised for professionals in the industry, IBFIM said in a statement on wednesday. It was mooted in response to positive remarks by prominent figures from the Islamic finance industry at the Global Islamic Finance Forum organised by Bank Negara Malaysia in March last year, the institute said. The two-day conference on May 7 and 8 will provide opportunities for high-growth companies to participate in the venture capital process as investors meet with the companies seeking capital, IBFIM said. It also aimed to provide participants with a platform for discussing issues, exchanging ideas and experience, and promoting a better understanding on Islamic venture capital. — BERNAMA
