MENAFN – Bahrain Tribune) Executives from Westpac Banking Corporation, one of Australia’s top ten listed companies, are looking at establishing a presence in the GCC financial markets. The group will be in Bahrain next week to discuss a broad range of offerings with major banks and private investors.

The Australian Business Group Bahrain will be hosting an event at The Diplomat Hotel at which Geoffrey Roberts, Head of Capital Market Sales, Asia, and Julian Allan, Director of Capital Market Sales, Westpac Institutional Bank, will talk about the potential new business development and give an overview of their visit to the Region.

“The business relationship between Australia and Bahrain is firmly established, and the recent formation of the Australian Business Group Bahrain will strengthen these ties even further,” said Chris Jennings, Austrade’s representative in Bahrain. He added: “Two of the largest Australian importers into the GCC – Toyota Australia and Meat and Livestock Australia – both have their regional headquarters in Bahrain. Australian imports will total nearly $200 million in 2008.”
