Teen's house

MENOMIE, Wisconsin (CNN) — Police in Menomie, Wisconsin, are investigating the death of a 16-year-old Saudi Arabian boy who might have been tortured for failing Islamic religious lessons.

The body of Abdullah Al-Qahtani was found Sunday in his family’s home. Police said he had been burned, whipped, and severely beaten — so much so that his back “appeared to have little or no skin.”

A witness who lived in the home told police the teenager was beaten when he incorrectly answered questions about the Koran, Islam’s sacred literature. Al-Qahtani’s uncle, cousin, and two brothers, all Saudi Arabian citizens, were arrested as material witnesses. The Dunn County district attorney said he will file reckless homicide charges against them.
