Cairo, (SANA)-Meetings of the Arab Joint Committee of Experts from Arab
Interior and Justice Ministers two Council 11 June wrapped up deliberations
by preparing the proposed Arab draft agreement on combating money laundry
and terrorism financing.
The draft agreement will be submitted to the Arab Justice Ministers Council
next November and to the Arab Interior Ministers Council in March 2009 in
order to be reviewed and approved it by the two councils. .  .  .The
agreement aims at supporting the measures to combat money laundering and
financing terrorism in the framework of an Arab security and judicial
cooperation reinforcing the Arab cooperation in this connection.

EXCERPTS:AMMAN – His Majesty King Abdullah on 12 June renewed Jordan’s
support for the Iraqi government’s efforts to restore safety, stability and
unity in Iraq.
Meanwhile, Jordan and Iraq agreed to renew an oil agreement, which expires
on August 15, for another three years..  .  . the same terms and conditions
in the original deal, under which Baghdad agreed to provide the Kingdom with
between 10 and 30 per cent of its daily oil needs of around 100,000 barrels
at a preferential price. But only “symbolic” land shipments made it to the
refinery due to security reasons.
.  .  .the Iraqi side called on Jordan to ease the entry of Iraqis into the
Kingdom.Upon the Iraqi government’s request, the government started a visa
system applied with the help of international courier TNT..  .  . Jordan
will send an ambassador to Iraq, without setting a specific date …

EL ARISH, Egypt (AFP) – Egyptian authorities on 12 June found weapons and
explosives in the Sinai Desert they believe were destined for the Hamas-run
Gaza Strip, a security official said….. The warehouse was discovered after
a tip-off from local residents, he said, adding that no arrests had been
made. Israel and the United States have repeatedly accused Egypt of not
doing enough to secure its border with the Gaza Strip, which has been under
the control of Islamist group Hamas for a year….Israel has demanded an end
to arms smuggling from Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula
