Racing in the emirate will get another boost with the launch of a dedicated channel to cover all the local, regional and international racing events including horse, camel and auto racing.
The Dubai Racing channel was officially approved by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI). Sheikh Maktoum also approved the logo of the channel, which will be launched today on Arabsat and Nilesat.
Media Advisor to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Managing Director of DMI, Ahmed Al Sheikh, said the launch of the new specialised channel, which will cover horse, camel and auto racing as well as all types of local and international races, will add a new dimension to building a media body with Dubai’s vision.
Al Sheikh said Dubai Racing will have exclusive rights to cover horse racing in Dubai, Britain, Ireland as well as other important races in Japan, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Germany, France, and for the first time the United States. Dubai Racing will be the first Middle East sports channel to cover American horse racing.
He praised Dubai Racing team’s potential, who received intensive training in various specialisations such as direction, editing, filming, sound and transmission.
Al Sheikh said the progress made by the local media reflects the vision of Sheikh Mohammed and the future of the UAE, which has made great achievements in economic, cultural, technical and sports fields.
Al Sheikh expressed thanks for Sheikh Maktoum’s follow up of preparations to launch the fifth channel under DMI.
