In Baghdad last February two women with Down’s syndrome were laden with
explosives, sent into a crowded market and then detonated by remote control.

“Americans love Pepsi Cola but we love death.”

“The aim was to kill as many Jews as possible and there was no moral
distinction betwenn potential victims, whether soldiers, women or

Hamas TV airs a children’s programme featuring a Jew eating rabbit.

“I am decisively announcing to the whole world that if the world-devourers
[i.e., the infidel powers] wish to stand against our religion, we will stand
against their whole world and will not cease until the annihilation of all
them. Either we all become free, or we will go to the greater freedom which
is martyrdom. Either we shake one another’s hands in joy at the victory of
Islam in the world, or all of us will turn to eternal life and martyrdom. In
both cases, victory and success are ours.”

– Ayatollah Khomeini, quoted in an 11-grade Iranian schoolbook

May 2008, 16 year old Morsal Obeidi is stabbed 20 times by her brother
because he is convinced she has brought shame on their Muslim family by
adopting the German culture in which she lived. In January 2008 it was in
Lewisville, Texas where a Muslim father murdered his two daughters by
shooting them to death claiming, “Western culture was corrupting the
chastity of his daughters.” The UN estimates that as many as 5000 women each
years are murdered in Islamic honour killings.

“Marriage is actually two things: First we are talking about the marriage
contract itself. This is one thing, while consummating the marriage – having
sex with the wife for the first time – is another thing. There is no minimal
age for entering marriage. You can have a marriage contract even with a
one-year-old girl, not to mention a girl of nine, seven, or eight. This is
merely a contract [indicating] consent. The guardian in such a case must be
the father, because the father’s opinion is obligatory. Thus, the girl
becomes a wife… But is the girl ready for sex or not? What is the
appropriate age for having sex for the first time? This varies according to
environment and traditions. In Yemen, girls are married off at nine, ten,
eleven, eight, or thirteen, while in other countries, they are married off
at 16. Some countries have legislated laws forbidding having sex before the
girl is eighteen.

[…]

The Prophet Muhammad is the model we follow. He took ‘Aisha to be his wife
when she was six, but he had sex with her only when she was nine.

He married her at the age of six, and he consummated the marriage, by having
sex with her for the first time, when she was nine. We consider the Prophet
Muhammad to be our model.”

– Dr. Ahmad Al-Mub’i, a Saudi marriage official, in a 19 June 2008 interview
broadcast on Lebanese television.

Arab news service Al Bawaba, the self described “largest independent content
producer in the Middle East, and provides daily news feeds to the world’s
top international publishers, including Reuters, Financial Times, and Dow
Jones” openly advertises the anti-Christian film “The God Who Wasn’t There”
in numerous places on their website. The film claims to disprove the
historical existence of Jesus.

Al Basrah, a Iraqi website contains “news” stories claiming everything from
allegations that the intent of America is to make Iraq a colony to
allegations the US is stealing Iraqi antiquities to claims that the terror
attacks in that country are secretly being perpetrated by US forces in order
to divide the Iraqi people to claims that UK forces are engaging in child
abuse.

In spite of the so called truce, rockets and mortars continue to be fired
into Israel as of today.

Jihad Unspun reports that the military wing of Hamas is upset by their
leadership’s recent attempts at peace with “Zionist Israel” and has
renounced their leaders and called on Al-Qaeda for support. In addition the
website features “heroic stories” of prominent martyrs of Iraq as well as a
feature titled “Knowledge Is For Acting Upon” which contains the text of bin
Laden’s call for global jihad. The site also claims that “This war on
‘terrorism’ is a war on Islam.”

Anti-western, anti-Chrisitan, anti-Jewish school materials produced by and
shipped from our alleged ally Saudi Arabia flow to Islamic schools around
the globe.

As of 11 June 2008 the United States Commission on International Religious
Freedom confirmed that material inciting violence and intolerance remained
in textbooks used at the Saudi Government’s Islamic Saudi Academy. The ISA
is a private school in Virginia, USA that is owned and operated by the Saudi
government. Examples cited in the USCIRF report include the following:

“In a twelfth-grade Tafsir (Koranic interpretation) textbook, the authors
state that it is permissible for a Muslim to kill an apostate (a convert
from Islam), an adulterer, or someone who has murdered a believer
intentionally: “He (praised is He) prohibits killing the soul that God has
forbidden (to kill) unless for just cause.” Just cause is then defined in
the text as “unbelief after belief, adultery, and killing an inviolable
believer intentionally. ” (Tafsir, Arabic/Sharia, 123)

A twelfth-grade Tawhid (monotheism) textbook states that “[m]ajor polytheism
makes blood and wealth permissible, ” which in Islamic legal terms means that
a Muslim can take the life and property of someone believed to be guilty of
this alleged transgression with impunity. (Tawhid, Arabic/Sharia, 15)
Under the Saudi interpretation of Islam, “major polytheists” include Shi’a
and Sufi Muslims, who visit the shrines of their saints to ask for
intercession with God on their behalf, as well as Christians, Jews, Hindus,
and Buddhists.”

In addition, the USCIRF has identified eleven countries as “countries of
particular concern, or CPCs, for ongoing, egregious violations of religious
freedom.” Of the eleven countries listed 6 are Islamic (Iran, Pakistan,
Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan).

According to a May 2006 Washington Post article by Nina Shea,

Religion is the foundation of the Saudi state’s political ideology; it is
also a key area of Saudi education in which students are taught the
interpretation of Islam known as Wahhabism (a movement founded 250 years ago
by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab) that is reflected in these textbooks.

Scholars estimate that within the Saudi public school curriculum, Islamic
studies make up a quarter to a third of students’ weekly classroom hours in
lower and middle school, plus several hours each week in high school.

Educators who question or dissent from the official interpretation of Islam
can face severe reprisals. In November 2005, a Saudi teacher who made
positive statements about Jews and the New Testament was fired and sentenced
to 750 lashes and a prison term. (He was eventually pardoned after public
and international protests.)

The Saudi public school system totals 25,000 schools, educating about 5
million students. In addition, Saudi Arabia runs academies in 19 world
capitals, including one outside Washington in Fairfax County, that use some
of these same religious texts.

Saudi Arabia also distributes its religion texts worldwide to numerous
Islamic schools and madrassas that it does not directly operate.

Undeterred by Wahhabism’s historically fringe status, Saudi Arabia is trying
to assert itself as the world’s authoritative voice on Islam — a sort of
“Vatican” for Islam, as several Saudi officials have stated– and these
textbooks are integral to this effort.

As the report of the commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks observed,
“Even in affluent countries, Saudi-funded Wahhabi schools are often the only
Islamic schools” available.

Deception anyone? Al-Taqiyya the Islamic equivalent of disinformation.
According to Islam-Watch. org, the word “Taqiyya” literally means:
“Concealing, precaution, guarding.” It is employed in disguising one’s
beliefs, intentions, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions or strategies.
In practical terms it is manifested as dissimulation, lying, deceiving,
vexing and confounding with the intention of deflecting attention, foiling
or pre-emptive blocking. It is currently employed in fending off and
neutralising any criticism of Islam or Muslims.

Falsehoods told to prevent the denigration of Islam, to protect oneself, or
to promote the cause of Islam are sanctioned in the Qur’an and Sunna,
including lying under oath in testimony before a court, deceiving by making
distorted statements to the media such as the claim that Islam is a
“religion of peace”. A Muslim is even permitted to deny or denounce his
faith if, in so doing, he protects or furthers the interests of Islam, so
long as he remains faithful to Islam in his heart.

Finally, there is the issue of the less than hoped for response from Muslims
who do not support the fundamentalist agenda. Much could be accomplished if
this alleged majority would organise and abandon their silence and take
action to remove or eliminate the influence of those who advocate and use
violence. This is perhaps the only way that these many problems will be
effectively resolved. Any imposition of a resolution by “infidel” powers
like the US or UK, whether through force or negotiation, will only leave a
smoldering resentment that will grow and ignite again in time. Ultimately
this is an issue that must first and foremost be resolved by Muslims
themselves. And it is one that may result in a great deal of internal
strife, even civil war in some countries; and there is no guarantee that the
moderates will win. But unless this internal solution comes about first, I
think it is highly unlikely that there will be any lasting solution to the
conflicts between Islam and the West.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a
hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory
gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor
yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

– Sun Tzu
