A NEW campaign has been launched for a better deal for women facing divorce or other domestic disputes in Sharia courts.Women claim the courts are biased in favour of men, despite Islam and the Sharia law stipulating fair treatment for all.Campaigner Amal Juma Abdulla says women face humiliation and endless delays in courts, while men get their way with ease.A petition has now been launched on behalf of four women, who say they are suffering through the way their cases are being handled.
It has been signed by more than 100 women and once completed will be sent to Justice and Islamic Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the High Judiciary Council and parliament chairman Khalifa Al Dhahrani.
