Note that CNN has whitewashed this story, referring only to “Saudi” law, not even the euphemistic “Islamic” law. The word “Shariah,” which accurately describes the law which resulted in this verdict and the whole legal system and the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, is never mentioned.
