Anwar Al-Awlaki’s 44 Ways of Supporting Jihad
Our Jihadist enemies sometimes can be very upfront about their intentions and methods.
This is true in the financial arena, just as it is true in violent jihad.
We have seen this pointed out twice in recent blog posts here on SFW.
On 7 May, we pointed out that Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi had confirmed that zakat payments (sometimes spelled zakah) were indeed meant to support violent jihad:

On 12 April, we posted a very similar report from another prominent Saudi scholar:

Now we have another confirmation of zakat payments for jihad from Anwar Al-Awlaki.
Al-Awlaki is an American Muslim cleric born in New Mexico who fled to Yemen in the wake of 9/11 after it was discovered that he was an Al Qaeda operative. Since then, he has been tied to the Jihadi who killed two US Army soldiers outside a Little Rock, Arkansas recruiting office last summer, Major Nidal Malik Hasan (the Fort Hood shooter) and the Nigerian underwear bomber, who attempted to detonate a bomb in an airliner in the skies over Detroit on Christmas day.
Al-Awlaki has released a video called “The 44 Ways of Supporting Jihad.”
