FaithFreedom.org has an extensive file on the Murfreesboro mosque controversy and they have now expanded that file with information on the “money man” behind the mosque.

For readers who are not familiar with the Murfreesboro mosque controversy, there is a huge 53,000 square foot mega-mosque being constructed just outside of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a town with perhaps 200 Muslim families, 45 of which are actual members of the mosque. There is a great deal of mystery surrounding the permitting procedure for the construction project, which has ended up in court.

But the important aspect from a financial standpoint is: “Where is the funding for such a large facility coming from?”

The mosque isn’t saying exactly, but the plot of land on which the mosque sits is listed in the name of one Abdoulrahman Kattih. Mr. Kattih is the head of an organization called the Islamic Education and Services Institute of Chattanooga. Kattih is also listed as Vice President and Treasurer of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro.

Kattih’s Islamic Education and Services Institute is housed in an old house in an isolated, backwoods area outside Chattanooga, Tennessee. Right next door is a large, empty parcel of land belonging to the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT).

This is where it gets interesting. NAIT was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, the largest terrorism financing conviction in US history. NAIT is an affiliate of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which was also named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, as well as being identified as a Muslim Brotherhood front group. Depending on whose numbers you use, NAIT owns somewhere between 27% and 80% of the mosques in the United States. This is additionally worrisome because NAIT is reportedly largely funded from overseas, particularly from Saudi Arabia.

Essentially, this at least suggests that the wave of mosque building that has swept the United States since 2001 may be funded by foreign powers.

This appears to be standard operating procedure for mosque construction in the West, as detailed by this recent post on the excellent Money Jihad Blog:
