Iranian TV: Shariah banking grows strong in Indonesia
It is no secret that Shariah banking is a growth industry in Islamic-dominated countries like Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim nation. And it is also no secret that the Shariah Finance and Banking industries have been hamstrung by a lack of qualified personnel–everything from a shortage of Shariah scholars to a shortage of rank and file personnel with the financial training needed to work in such an industry.
From that standpoint, the video linked below is not exactly noteworthy. We call your attention to it because of its origin and because of the reporter on camera for the segment.
The report comes from official state-controlled Iranian Press TV, an indication that Iran continues to flex its muscles in dominance of Shariah-compliant finance.
And check out the reporter: Nico Prins. He is most certainly not Iranian and perhaps not even Muslim…
