Ever since the Boston Marathon bombing, Jihad in the Caucasus region of Russia has come more and more into focus in the West–and with good reason. Evidently, the Jihadist groups in the region may well be receiving funding from the West, including here in the US.
Once again, as has so often been the case for years and years, the funding for Jihad comes from Islamic charities. We’ve seen this with Al Qaeda, Hezbollah and Al Sahabaab to name a few and now this widespread practice of charities funding violent jihad appears to have been at work in the Caucusus.
