HAMAS has had severe financial troubles in recent months due to shaky relations with some of its previous Gulf allies and an effective blockade by the new regime in Egypt and Israeli security services. Now they are short of ammunition. This situation is a far cry from the days when HAMAS was getting funding and weapons from several Gulf states via Egypt, as well as Iran, building up an arsenal of rockets held like a broken bottle at Israel’s throat.
