Canada Raids Islamic Charity, Declares it Terrorist Entity
An Islamic charity accused by Canadian government auditors of sending almost $15-million to the Palestinian jihadist terrorist group HAMAS has been raided by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who report to have seized an “extensive amount” of evidence.
Police teams searched the office of the International Relief Fund for the Afflicted and Needy Canada in Mississauga, Ontario, as well as a private residence in Montreal.
IRFAN-Canada lost its charity status in 2011 after Canada Revenue Agency auditors labeled it an “integral part” of an international fundraising effort in support of HAMAS.
Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney declared that IRFAN-Canada had “for many years” funded HAMAS.
