Anyone who tries to draw a distinction between Shariah-Compliant Finance and Shariah itself is either ignorant or dishonest.
This was driven home recently in Kenya where Kenya Commercial Bank launched a new Shariah-compliant banking product at which female journalists report that they were compelled to observe Shariah customs, including dress codes.
Not surprisingly, the bank denies that female journalists were “harassed.”
