An assistant registrar of a Shariah court was charged in the Kuantan Sessions Court today with bribery, involving RM3,500, last year.

Mohd Kahar Arshad, 48, who is with the Pekan Shariah Court, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He was alleged to have accepted the bribe from one Hurul-Ain Hanafi at 4.20 pm on May 28, 2014, at Restoran D’Oasis, Jalan Putra Square, Kuantan.

The money was an inducement for Kahar to revoke the marriage between Hurul-Ain, 31, and one Mohamad Zaki Ahmad Ghazali, 38…
