Jihadi Involved in Charities in UK Imprisoned in Terrorism Case
posted by Christopher Holton
Regular readers of SFW know that one of the chief concerns surrounding Shariah-compliant finance is the issue of Islamic charities funding jihad. We have posted dozens of articles on the subject over the years.
This posting is but the latest example.
A Briton named Umar Haque has been sentenced to prison in the UK on terrorism charges. It turns out that Haque was also previously in the center of two investigations by the UK Charity Commission into two Islamic schools in the UK.
Umar Haque was found guilty of grooming and radicalising children earlier this month and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years for a range of terrorism offences on Tuesday.
Haque had been a part-time teacher at the Lantern of Knowledge Education Trust and had also worked at the past at the Essex Islamic Academy. He was found guilty of trying to radicalise children by showing them Islamic State propaganda videos, with the intention of getting them to help him and another man to carry out terrorist attacks across London.
