Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood leader Hamam Said stood trial Tuesday in Jordan together with another six members of the Islamic organization on corruption charges in their management of Islamic charitable organizations.
If they are convicted, they are expected to receive prison sentences of up to three years.
It is not known if the corruption involved diversion of funds from the charities to terrorist organizations. This may not be the case since this would not actually be a crime, since, under Shariah, those fighting for allah are legitimately entitled to zakat monies…
